What Now?

Okay, I figured that since Lauren's had this thing up and runnig for what seems like years, i guess that I had better say a thing or two so that you all know that I exist, and am not just the ruggly handsome cardboard cut-out my wife has pictures of. So here it goes...I have just finished writing my last essay for college, and it has just hit me that tomorrow will probably be the last day that I grace the halls of UVSC with my presence. It has been a great and long 6 years getting to this point (keep in mind that this is for my BS degree... yep I'm not a doctor after all that time, but I feel I should probably be) and it has been a fun one. I remember way back when in the time when the country wasn't at war and I was freezing my %$@ off in Rexburg. People say that your freshman year is the funnest, and they're right. I did more crazy stuff then than ever since, except for the occasional putting on WWII helmet and dropping gasoline bombs down a mine shaft and driving people to the hospital with all the hair burned off their bodies. (I should probably be dead.) Anyways, Ricks College was great. Then my pursuit of a degree was interrupted by my mission to Portland Oregon. That is an experience that will forever impact my life. Then I experienced the greatest six weeks of my life on a study-abroad in Britain and France. Wow there was a five to one ratio of girls to guys and still I only spooned with a couple girls...I'm a total loser! Lauren will be mad that that time was the funnest time of my life, but she knows that this time with her has been the best, and I didn't hook up with any girls there. Following that I came to UVSC and roomed with Trent. That was great to get to know him better, but it did kind of suck that he got all the women and I was just the nice younger brother that only went on two dates during that time, and one was with Lauren, who obviously is my wife. Then I lived with some great friends Lee, Daren, and Rose until I married Lauren. I think that once you get married you are suppossed to do better in school, but for me, I did the complete opposite. I couldn't focus at all because I always wanted to hang with the wifey. Then came the Cannon Ball! That threw a whole other curve into my lackluster pursuit of graduation. But hey after tomorrow I will be done with degrees in History and Psychology. And now I pose the question asked before... What now? I don't have hardly an idea of what I want to do with the rest fo life. So may question to everyone who reads this is, do you have any ideas (heck I'd take just about any job right now) jk...but really.

It might be snowing outside....

But it's a naked party inside! lol. Why is it so freaking fun to take pictures of baby bums? It just makes me want to reach through my computer screen and pinch those little cheeks....
...hey, if you got it...flaunt it!

Fun with dad!

Cannon LOVES hanging out with dad- and I can see why :)

ps- we have just added a YouTube page with a few video's, if anyone ever wants to check it out :) www.youtube.com/wattybutt

wattybutt= I have always had the nickname Watty because my maiden name was Watson- so it has stuck with me for like 10 years. Butt is, well, I used to have a cute butt back then too-lol (pre-Cannon that is). That and I was a catcher and my nickname was mainly used in the softball community- I just thought I would post this "disclaimer" so people didn't think we were into any weird things on YouTube...lol

Baby Proofing.....

To start us off, Cannon is now 8 months old! Yes, 8 months! Where does the time go, honestly? He is officially crawling EVERYWHERE. He's been crawling for a few weeks now, but he has mastered the art as of last week. So this means its time for the dreaded baby proofing. I thought I had a few more weeks before I was able to baby proof the house. He was crawling so slow at first, so I would have plenty of time to walk in the other room for a few minutes before I would catch him inching towards wall outlets, pointy edges, and drawers. Now, however, he moves at Jedi-like speed. I cant even sprint to grab my phone that's 10 feet away before he is literally in our Christmas tree or crawling on top of our Xbox. His new favorite activity is walking along the couches, coffee table, and his crib. This has also caused him to fall a few times. We have had to move our coffee table to our outside storage unit. It will be nice to have more of an open space for him to crawl and play-but- it will be a big loss because not only do we lose a place to set our feet, remotes, and photo albums- but we've lost a very big toy for Cannon. He would stand at that coffee table and walk around it and pound his hands on it ALL day if he could (not to mention it has turned into his favorite teething toy). He is such a boy! He loves to explore and challenge himself. The world is his jungle gym, and he wants to play in it :) If it could hurt him, he wants to do it! So we are off to get some baby proofing essentials today. I figured a simple "no no" would work for the time being- but he has proven me wrong.
He has been so much fun and such a blessing in our lives. I love to see him grow and change, even if it requires me to get a few less hours of sleep and 24 hours of keeping me on my toes.
